Although its been awhile since this EP came out, I still get the same good vibes every time I hear it. Solar Apex was released sometime last december from Institubes and I believe it was Chateau Marmont’s first solo record. They are probably more well known for doing remixes for bands like Midnight Juggernauts, Heartsrevolution, and Royksopp, but I personally like their songs much more than anything else they’ve done.
Their music really has a good feel about it. All the sounds in their music complement each other perfectly. This EP is really top notch.
Anyway, check out two of their standout tracks below. The title track, ‘Solar Apex,’ is a real sci-fi, electronic powerhouse of a song. It was the first song I heard that really turned me on to their other music. ‘Maison Klaus’ is more like an evil ‘Air’ type song which is a bit mellower, but equally as powerful (its full force at around 3:30!).
