A new Tron movie is in the works and is set to be released sometime in 2011 (trailer). The coolest part about all this is that Daft Punk is doing the soundtrack for it! Check out this video from comic-con which could possibly contain a sample of Daft’s soundtrack.

I never really got into it when I was younger, but now every time I watch it I’m blown away at how good it is. My roommates, girlfriend, and I just watched it and we had a blast. Practically every shot is a golden fantasy shot. Plus it encourages kids to read!

Needless to say, the move has a great soundtrack. I think there have been some different versions made over the years, but I really dig the main US version. One track in particular, ‘The Ivory Tower” theme, originally composed by the great Giorgio Moroder is huge! Below is a new-ish track from the french artist CRJ who covered the original Ivory Tower theme. It’s fantasy-electro at its best.
