Just when I think I’m going to get some free time, another projects pops up and I get back to the books. Luckily today I managed to get some free time so I thought I would share of the stuff I’ve been listening to lately, as well as some other cool stuff.

This first video I thought was really cool. It’s based off of a poster, “Man as Industrial Palace”, made by Fritz Kahn in 1927.

Musical Happenings

There’s been some really great stuff coming out of the Lindstrøm world lately. He’s working on an album with another artist from Norway, Christabelle, and it’s getting a lot of hype. ‘Baby Can’t Stop’ is the first track released for the album and it’s some serious groove (imagine a space disco MJ). To make things even better, Aeroplane remixed the track in their usual stylings. Lindstrøm and Christabelle also just released the track ‘love sick‘.

Fever Ray’s new ‘Live in Luleå’ album is amazingly dark and beautiful. I was so stoked to get this album. A lot of the songs, like ‘Concrete Walls’, are actually scary sounding and I love that.

I’ve been listening to some Siriusmo stuff lately, though I don’t have much of it. It always has a dark edge to it that’s so good. High Together is featured on the 8th Kitsuné Maison Compilation. Another great producer, Zombie Nation, released a free mix which really kills. It’s fast paced and hard hitting all the way through. You can download it on his site, zombienation.com, or you can just download it here and bypass signing up for a mailing list.

Also, if you like Gonzales, you should check out his new SUPER PRODUCER video series where he produces all types of songs for fake artists. It’s similar to the old video I posted of him awhile back – really fun to watch.

The first 28 minute track sent me on a psychedelic journey through space and time with blasting arpeggios and soaring synths . It was phenomenal.

Since then, Lindstrøm has been on constant rotation in my iTunes. It’s like disco, electro, trance, prog, psychedelia, and rock all wrapped up into a finely tuned master class of sound. I love it. His music is better than 80% of the stuff I’ve heard in the last year and he’s produced loads of it! If you check his myspace out, he has a huge discography.
