Printable versionHello, my name is Tyler.
I'm part web designer, part computer programmer, and I love what I do. This is my portfolio and blog. Welcome.I have a passion for creating elegant, effective websites that are easy to use. My approach to web design is to keep everything as simple and intuitive as possible, to ensure the highest quality user experience. In everything I do, I use only the latest standards and technology.
I am a recent graduate of the University of Hawaii at Manoa where I received a Bachelor of Science in Information & Computer Science. While in school, I studied design theory, human-computer interaction, web development, and software engineering. In the Spring of 2008 I studied web design at Roehampton University in London. Over the years I have become proficient in many languages, though I have the most experience programming in Java and Ruby.
I like to blog about music, web design, and other things that interest me. Eventually, my goal is to make a series of podcasts featuring mixes of some of my favorite music.
Currently, I am a web developer for E-telligents, an Electronic Health Record software vendor based in Honolulu. I work on both front-end and back-end components of the application, doing everything from interface design to Ruby programming.
When I have free time, I enjoy doing freelance web design. You can see some of my latest work on the projects page. Feel free to message me if you have any questions or need some web design!
